About the Role
Northwest Playground is looking for a 3d Environment Artist (6-month Contract) to help bring their creativity and thoughtfulness to our park and playground designs. Are you a 3d Environment Artist who loves turning ideas into visuals? We are looking for creative, motivated, self-starting individuals who will help inspire us to dream about all that is possible in a modern park. Have you ever wondered how playgrounds were designed or put together? Can you imagine yourself as a kid playing a “hot lava game” traversing across multiple climbing elements? Well, here at Northwest Playground you get to be a kid again as you put yourself back into the mindset of that child while designing the coolest playground concepts and layouts!

Position Summary
The Designer is responsible for creating illustrations and digital images to promote the goods and services we provide. The primary responsibility involves AutoCAD and Lumion for rendering park and playground designs. This position would also help elevate our Design Department through their knowledge of animation, 3d modeling, character rigging, and material creation. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for connecting with current and future customers.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Teammates and Design Manager on various projects.
  • Create compelling 3D models, renderings, visualizations, and animations of custom playgrounds and park environments
  • Maintain brand consistency through all designs.
  • Design custom play spaces utilizing proprietary software and standard AutoCAD blocks/designs.
Qualifications/Skills
  • Associate degree in Technical/Engineering Drafting and Design Required or equivalent industry experience.
  • 1-3 years of full-time design experience (Subs: Education or Internship Experience).
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, growing organization, with a willingness to learn and adapt to change.
  • Have great organizational and multi-tasking skills and a quick Learner.
  • Has excellent communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude that helps build relationships.
  • Is a proven self-starter.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer focused.
  • Design Portfolio.
  • Experience using 3DS Max, SketchUp, AutoCAD, & Lumion.
  • An excitement for learning and excelling in a new industry!
Other Skills & Abilities
  • Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro or other video editing software
  • Experience creating animations and rigging characters
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD 2020 or higher.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Detail oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of 3ds Max 2020 or higher.
Working Hours
  • 8a-5p, Monday - Friday, plus overtime as needed
Salary
  • $20.00-$25.00 per hour
