About the Role
Northwest Playground Equipment is seeking a full-time Design intern to join our team for six (6) months. We are looking for creative, motivated, and fun-loving talent. Have you ever wondered how playgrounds were designed or put together? Can you imagine yourself as a kid playing a “hot lava game” traversing across multiple climbing elements? Well, here at Northwest Playground Equipment we put ourselves into the mindset of that child when we design our equipment layouts!
Position Summary
The Design intern is responsible for creating illustrations and digital images to promote the goods and services we provide. The primary responsibility involves AutoCAD and Lumion for rendering park and playground designs. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for connecting with current and future customers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Teammates and Design Manager on various projects
- Produce design drawings, site layouts, 3D renderings, and graphic design work
- Maintain brand consistency in all designs
- Design custom play spaces utilizing proprietary software and standard AutoCAD blocks/designs
- Associate degree in Technical/Engineering Drafting and Design Required or equivalent industry experience
- 0-3 years of full-time design experience (Subs: Education or internship Experience)
- Ability to work in a dynamic, growing organization, with a willingness to learn and adapt to change.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Proven self-starter, quick learner and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Customer focused with a friendly, positive attitude that helps build relationships.
- Experience using Sketchup, AutoCAD 2020 or higher, & Lumion
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of 3ds Max 2020 or higher.
- Detail oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
- An excitement for learning and excelling in a new industry!
- 8a-5p, Monday - Friday, plus overtime as needed
- $20.00-$25.00 per hour
